Welcome to the "Banbury Canal Day" website
Banbury Town Council, with help from a committee of dedicated enthusiastic local people, is busy preparing for an even bigger and better Banbury Canal Day in 2009.
The event will be held on Sunday 4th October and we are delighted that our main sponsors this year will be Castle Quay Shopping Centre and Hook Norton Brewery. As always we are being supported by British Waterways, Inland Waterways Association, Sovereign Wharf, Tooley’s Boatyard, Banbury Museum, The Mill Arts Centre and Banbury Canalside Folk Festival.
Our theme this year is 'Ghosts and Ghouls' so we look forward to meeting lots of friendly ghosts around the site. Let your imagination run riot – judges will circulate on the day to chose: The Best Ghost and Ghoul Boat, The Best Ghost and Ghoul Stall and the Best walking Ghost or Ghoul.
