A hearty welcome for Brunomart’s market traders as they descend with their ‘ambiance française’ created by the French & Continental stallholders with their wares and fares in tow, transforming Compton Road Car Park into a French style boulevard.
Shop French style on Sunday 5th October 09:00am – 5:30pm.
Now in its eighth year, Brunomart’s French & Continental market offers the diversity and speciality of traditional French & Continental products.
Its traders offer up tempting delights such as an excellent selection of cheeses, olives, charcuterie and patisserie - follow your nose to the heart-warming smell of bread and pastries; and let’s not forget those wonderful strings of onions, shallots and garlic!
Other delicious products include Soupe de poisson and confit de canard and for the sweeter tooth there is a variety including those famous crepes with gorgeous toppings such as Grand Marnier or chocolate.
Also on sale are household wares such as French African Crafts, earthenware, Leather Goods, hand woven baskets, lovely costume jewellery and much more – the choice is yours! Or just come along and soak up the convivial atmosphere and practice your French with our friendly stallholders and our phrase book!

Making a Splash with the Fire Service
Following
a number of tragic incidents on the Oxford Canal in Banbury
this year, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service will be demonstrating the
enormous benefits of always wearing a life jacket when on a canal boat.
The Swift Water Rescue Team will be "MAKING A SPLASH" in the canal to
show how a life jacket works. The Banbury fire crews will have on
display the new water rescue equipment that has been purchased by
Oxfordshire County Council for the Fire and Rescue Service following the
floods of 2007.
There will also be a floating fire engine paddling up and down the canal giving fire safety advice to boat owners.
Sealed Knot Society visit Banbury Canal Day
The
Lord Robartes' Regiment of Foote (Sealed Knot Society) will have an
encampment on the Bridge Street Park area at the
far south of the site. Lord
Robartes Regiment of Foote are members of the Sealed Knot whose object
is to promote historical research whilst raising the public’s historical
awareness of the English Civil Wars. The Living History Military
Encampment will include displays and re-enactments.
Don’t forget to visit their encampment to learn
all about life around the time of the Civil Wars and see them lead the
Historic Parade at 4pm from the Cherwell Plaza.
Tooley’s Boatyard
will be open with its historic engines and traditional crafts; spinners,
weavers and potters will be operating ‘under the boardwalk’ adjacent to
Tooley’s with blacksmiths both at Tooley’s and Sovereign, and The Mill
Arts Centre uses the event as its Open Day.
There are historic boats, trading boats, pleasure crafts and a
whole lot more.
Spiceball Park offers activities for children of all ages with horse & cart rides, Fir
Tree Falconry, an 80ft inflatable fun-house, bungee jumping and mobile climbing wall with lotsof food and drink to whet the appetite whilst
watching the children enjoy themselves.
Brunomarte will take over most of Compton Road car park with the irresistible flavours of the Continent and Castle Quay South car park will be brimming with crafters, traders and local charities selling their wares. See the Sealed Knot Living History Encampment on the Bridge Street Park with classic & vintage cars on the Bridge Street Open Space.
